Fiona Coull
Fiona has had a special interest in the way the body functions, develops, and changes with time, age, environment, and workload. She has always been curious… At age four, she asked her Mum, “How does a seed know to grow into a gumtree and not a magpie?”. At seven she started a stall in the local market giving ten-minute massages. Consequently, She didn’t need pocket money from her parents that year!
Fiona is a qualified Myotherapist who also specialises in vet nursing; working with animal physiotherapy, orthopaedic injuries, and rehabilitation. Here she merges her academic nursing studies with her myotherapy work. Several years of working with animals as a vet nurse, specialising in animal physiotherapy, gave Fiona the much needed skill of trusting her hands and her knowledge; her patients couldn’t speak for what they needed. During this time she managed individualised rehabilitation with all types of animals post surgery, and with orthopaedic injuries, with great success.
Fiona is trained in multiple techniques: Remedial massage, dry needling, manual lymphatic drainage, myofascial cupping, pregnancy massage, myofascial tension technique, relaxation, sports massage, and deep tissue massage.
With her considerable range of life experiences, Fiona’s clinical, and instinctual manner encourages and supports the use of corrective exercise and tailored stretching regimes for her patients. This way, you can continue to progress at home and help protect yourself from further injury.
Sensitive and thorough in her approach, Fiona aims to help not only in treating musculoskeletal complaints via her range of techniques, but also to compliment and assist your overall health and wellbeing.
Fiona is currently on leave from the Fitzroy Clinic
